2005 dodge neon sxt burning smell?

Hey All.....77,000 Miles 05 dodge neon sxt....The Fuel pump just went out and I changed it a few weeks ago...Also the Battery Wiring Harness was changed with a new battery about a Month and half ago...I just changed the spark plugs and wires about a week ago....The Car runs awsome now, but now I can smell a burning smell, its not coming from any thing I have done recently, but I noticed it seems like the exhaust is running a little hotter than usual, but I can't tell where the smell is coming from, I have searched every square inch of the engine and the only thing I can find is the Heat Covers on the Wires and hoses around the exhaust seem to be getting a little hotter than usual and the rubber underneath the shield that covers the hose is getting soft so I think that might be the culprit.. No Check Light and the car runs great! I thought maybe the exhaust is just running hotter than usual because the motor is running cleaner and maybe burning the fuel hotter or something? Please Help, going on a little road trip this weekend....
